Agedashi Tofu

Fried soft tofu, bathed in a “Tsuyu” sauce that was lovingly made out of our Japanese Soy Sauce. This dish is extremely tasty and has a distinct umami flavour. It is also very straightforward and uncomplicated to make.

Ingredients
1 box Japanese pressed tofu
3 tbsp Potato starch
1 cup Cooking oil
200 ml Water
½ tsp Dashi stock
2 tbsp Hamdaya Japanese Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Mirin
For The Garnishing
Some Grated daikon
Some Grated ginger
Some Spring onions
Method
1.
Cut Japanese pressed tofu into 10 pcs. Coat tofu with potato starch.
2.
Preheat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry tofu until light brown and crispy then remove and drain excess oil.
3.
Add water in a pot, bring to a boil. Add in dashi stock, Hamadaya Japanese Soy Sauce and mirin. Simmer for 2 minutes.
4.
Garnish fried tofu with grated daikon, ginger and spring onion. Gently pour in hot broth. Serve hot.
